Involvement Period: July 2012 through February 2013
Sound2Sleep was my first project at Gear4 and initially solely developed by me. The premise behind the app was to complement Renew SleepClock, by being its opposite. Whilst Renew SleepClock would help you wake up better, Sound2Sleep would in turn, help you get to sleep better.
By providing a bank of free sound loops that users could mix together in a number of different ways, they would be able to setup an ambient sound that mimicked the background sound they were used to hearing, and thus allow them to sleep easier.
I was the primary developer on this app and was the first time I had ever had any real exposure to Apple's Core Audio and Core Animation frameworks. Through the course of the project I worked closely with several people on determining the best way of delivering the content and allowing users to mix their own sounds.
